Family (2012 South Korean TV Series)

Family (Korean: 닥치고 패밀리; RR: Dakchigo Paemilri) is a South Korean television sitcom that aired on KBS2 from August 13, 2012, to February 6, 2013. The series, which spanned 120 episodes, was directed by Jo Joon-Hee and Choi Sung-Bum, with a screenplay by Seo Jae-Won.

Plot

The series centers on the marriage between two individuals from vastly different backgrounds. Woo Shin-Hye (Hwang Shin-Hye) is a divorced woman living with her mother and two daughters. Yeol Seok-Hwan (Ahn Suk-Hwan) is a widower living with his mother-in-law and three children. Following their marriage, the two families must navigate the challenges of living under one roof, eventually learning to overcome their personality clashes to become a unified family.

Production

The series was originally titled Dakchigo Paemilri, which translates literally to "Shut Up Family," before being shortened to Family. It occupied the Monday to Friday 19:45 time slot on KBS2, succeeding the series Sent From Heaven and preceding Pure Love.
