Emperor of the Sea (Korean: 해신; RR: Haeshin) is a 51-episode South Korean historical television drama that aired on KBS from November 24, 2004, to May 25, 2005. The series is based on the novel of the same name by author Choi In-ho.

Plot
The drama provides a fictionalized account of the life of Jang Bo-go (died 846), a historical figure who rose to prominence during the Unified Silla period. The narrative follows his efforts to establish maritime control and secure trade routes across East Asia, including regions in China and Japan. A central element of the plot is the establishment of the Cheonghaejin garrison on Wando Island, which served as a base for his efforts to suppress piracy and organize international maritime trade.
