Emergency Couple
Emergency Couple (Korean: 응급남녀; RR: Eunggeubnamnyeo) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network tvN in 2014. The series, directed by Kim Cheol-Kyu and written by Choi Yoon-Jung, blends medical drama with romantic comedy elements. It follows the story of two former spouses who unexpectedly reunite as medical interns in the same hospital emergency room.

Plot
The story centers on Oh Jin-Hee (Song Ji-Hyo), who previously worked as a dietitian, and Oh Chang-Min (Choi Jin-Hyuk), a former medical student. The couple married despite strong opposition from Chang-Min's family, who were predominantly medical professionals. Following their marriage, Chang-Min abandoned his medical studies to work as a pharmaceutical salesman, a decision that contributed to marital strain and eventual divorce. Years later, both individuals independently pursue medical degrees and find themselves working as interns in the same hospital emergency department, where they must navigate their professional responsibilities and past relationship.
Production
Filming for the series commenced in December 2013. The initial script reading was held on December 20, 2013, at the CJ E&M Center in the Sangam neighborhood of Seoul. The series premiered on January 24, 2014, occupying the Friday and Saturday 20:50 time slot on tvN, succeeding Reply 1994. Due to the series' performance, it was extended from its original 20-episode run to 21 episodes, concluding on April 5, 2014.
Production faced scheduling challenges during the run, which necessitated the postponement of the eighth episode. Originally scheduled for February 15, 2014, the episode was delayed until February 21, 2014, due to delays in filming.
