Duty After School: Part 2
Duty After School: Part 2 (Korean: 방과 후 전쟁활동 파트2) is a South Korean television series that serves as the concluding installment of the 2023 adaptation of the webcomic Banggwa Hoo Jeonjaenghwaldong by Ha Il-Kwon. Directed by Sung Yong-Il and written by Yoon Soo, the series was released on the streaming platform TVING on April 21, 2023.
Plot
The story follows the students of Grade 3, Class 2 at Sungjin High School, who have been conscripted as reservists to combat mysterious, deadly spheres descending from the sky. In this second part, the students face increasing isolation as their communication with the military command center is severed. Driven by a mix of survival instinct and the promise of academic incentives, the group must navigate dangerous environments, including the Yongwon Metropolitan Hospital and the Yongwon Penitentiary, to secure essential supplies. The narrative is framed in part through the perspective of student Kim Chi-Yeol, who documents their experiences on a camcorder.
Production and Release
The series is based on the webcomic of the same name, which was serialized on Naver from November 17, 2012, to December 21, 2013. The television adaptation was split into two parts, with the second part consisting of four episodes. It continues the story established in the first part of the 2023 TVING production.
