Draft King is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the WOWOW network in 2023. The series consists of 10 episodes and explores the professional world of baseball scouting in Japan.

Plot

The story follows Ora Gohara, a baseball scout for the professional team Yokohama Bay Golds. Known for his sharp tongue and uncompromising personality, Gohara is highly respected for his ability to identify talent. The narrative centers on his efforts, alongside his scouting team, to discover and recruit top-tier players for the organization.

Production

The series is based on the manga series Draft King, written and illustrated by Tetsuro Kuromatsu. The manga was first published on November 21, 2018, in the magazine Grand Jump. The television adaptation was directed by Toru Yamamoto and Yuta Yoshikawa, with the screenplay written by Kenichi Suzuki.
