D.P. Season 2

D.P. Season 2 is a South Korean television series released on Netflix on July 28, 2023. It serves as the direct continuation of the 2021 series D.P., which focuses on the Deserter Pursuit (D.P.) unit of the South Korean military. The series is based on the webcomic D.P.: Gaeui Nal, written by Kim Bo-Tong.

Plot

The second season follows An Jun-Ho (Jung Hae-In) and Han Ho-Yeol (Koo Kyo-Hwan) as they navigate the personal and professional aftermath of the traumatic events involving Private Cho Suk-Bong. As the D.P. team continues its mission to apprehend military deserters, Sergeant Park Beom-Gu (Kim Sung-Kyun) faces mounting pressure from military superiors to suppress information regarding recent incidents, including a mass shooting triggered by systemic bullying within a military barracks.

The series features the return of the main cast from the first season, alongside new characters introduced to address specific cases.

Production

The series was directed by Han Jun-Hee, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kim Bo-Tong. The production consists of six episodes. The source material, D.P.: Gaeui Nal, was originally published on Lezhin starting in 2015.
