Doubtful Victory

Doubtful Victory (Korean: 의문의 일승; RR: Uimoonui Ilseung) is a South Korean television series that aired on SBS from November 27, 2017, to January 30, 2018. The series, directed by Shin Kyung-Soo and written by Lee Hyun-Joo, consists of 40 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Kim Jong-Sam (played by Yun Kyun-Sang), a man who has spent ten years in prison after being falsely convicted of murder and sentenced to death. Following a prison break, he finds himself in circumstances that lead him to assume the identity of a detective named Oh Il-Seung. Under this new persona, he joins a police investigation team, working alongside detective Jin Jin-Young (Jung Hye-Sung) to uncover the truth behind his past and pursue justice against those who framed him. The name "Il-Seung" is a play on words, as it literally translates to "victory" in Korean.

Production

Doubtful Victory replaced the series Temperature of Love in the SBS Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot. Following its conclusion on January 30, 2018, the slot was subsequently filled by the drama Should We Kiss First beginning on February 20, 2018.
