Doubt (Korean: 이토록 친밀한 배신자; RR: Yitorok Chinmilhan Baeshinja) is a South Korean television thriller series that aired on MBC from October 11 to November 15, 2024. The series follows the life of a renowned criminal profiler whose professional and personal worlds collide during a high-stakes murder investigation.

Plot

Jang Tae-soo (Han Suk-kyu) is a legendary criminal profiler in South Korea, widely respected for his analytical skills and contributions to the field. As a single father, he balances his demanding career with raising his daughter, Jang Ha-bin (Chae Won-bin). His life takes a dramatic turn when he investigates a murder case and discovers evidence linking his daughter to the crime. The revelation forces him to confront his own professional beliefs and the complexities of his relationship with his daughter as he attempts to uncover the truth.

Production

The screenplay for Doubt was written by Han A-young and was the winner of the 2021 MBC Drama Script Contest. The series was directed by Song Yeon-hwa. It occupied the Friday and Saturday 21:50 time slot on MBC, succeeding the series Black Out and preceding When the Phone Rings. Due to a broadcast of a Korean baseball game on October 25, 2024, the fifth episode was rescheduled to air on October 26, 2024.
