Diary of a Prosecutor (Korean: 검사내전; RR: Geomsanaejeon) is a South Korean television series that aired on JTBC from December 16, 2019, to February 11, 2020. The drama focuses on the professional and personal lives of prosecutors working in the fictional provincial city of Jinyoung, portraying them as ordinary salarymen rather than the idealized figures often seen in legal dramas.
Background and Production
The series is based on the non-fiction novel Geomsanaejeon, written by Kim Woong and published by Bookie on January 19, 2018. The adaptation was directed by Lee Tae-Gon, with a script developed by Lee Hyun, Lee Tae-Gon, and creator Park Yeon-Sun. The first script reading for the production took place in July 2019 at the JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul.

Plot
The narrative centers on the Criminal Cases Team 2 at the Jinyoung District Prosecutor's Office. Lee Sun-Woong (played by Lee Sun-Kyun) is a prosecutor in Jinyoung who maintains a relaxed demeanor and lacks the typical ambition for high-ranking success. His routine is disrupted by the arrival of Cha Myung-Joo (played by Jung Ryeo-Won), an elite prosecutor previously stationed at the Central District Prosecutor's Office in Seoul, who is suddenly transferred to the provincial office.
