Detarame Hero

Detarame Hero (Japanese: でたらめヒーロー) is a Japanese television drama series that aired in 2013. The series was broadcast on the NTV and YTV networks, running for 13 episodes from April 4 to June 27, 2013, in the Thursday 23:58 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Kenta Kusumi, an unemployed man whose life changes when he becomes the guardian of his young nephew, Taichi, following the death of his older sister. While caring for the third-grade student, Kenta discovers a mysterious type of sugar candy belonging to the boy. Consumption of this candy grants the user superhuman strength and heightened senses for a duration of 10 minutes. Kenta's friend, a police officer named Shunji Tanba, discovers the secret behind the candy and pressures Kenta to use his temporary abilities to solve crimes and act as a hero.
