Departure (2012 Short Film)

Departure (Korean: 디파쳐; RR: Dipacheo) is a 2012 South Korean short film directed by Yang Ik-June. The film, which has a runtime of approximately 12 minutes, explores the experiences of a woman living in Japan as she prepares to return to her home country.

Plot

The narrative centers on a woman, portrayed by Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung, who has resided in Japan for three years. The film documents her internal and external preparations as she concludes her time abroad and makes arrangements for her departure.

Production and Release

Departure was directed by Yang Ik-June, who also appears in the film alongside Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung. The film was screened at the 4th Beppu Hot Spring Japan Korea Next Generation Film Festival, held from March 2 to 4, 2012.
