Dear X (South Korean Drama)
Dear X (Korean: 친애하는 X; RR: Chinaehaneun X) is a South Korean thriller drama series that premiered in 2025. The series is based on the webcomic of the same name written by Ban Ji-Woon, which was serialized on Naver from July 5, 2019, to September 11, 2020. The drama was broadcast on the streaming platform TVING.
Plot
The story follows Baek Ah-Jin (played by Kim You-Jung), a successful actress who developed a manipulative personality as a survival mechanism after enduring domestic violence during her childhood. While she often presents a generous and kind persona to the public, she is capable of displaying a ruthless side when provoked or when pursuing her own interests. Her life is deeply intertwined with Yoon Jun-Seo (Kim Young-Dae), a man who has been by her side for most of her life and remains her primary source of comfort. Despite their long-standing bond, the narrative explores the complexities of their relationship as he eventually works toward her downfall.
The series also features Kim Jae-Oh (Kim Do-Hoon), who shares a history of childhood abuse with Baek Ah-Jin and views her as his reason for living. Additionally, the plot involves Le-Na (Lee Yul-Eum), a former idol turned actress who harbors feelings for Yoon Jun-Seo.
Production
The series was directed by Lee Eung-Bok and Park So-Hyun, with the screenplay adapted by Choi Ja-Won. It consists of 12 episodes and was released between November 6 and December 4, 2025.
