Dali and the Cocky Prince

Dali and the Cocky Prince (Korean: 달리와 감자탕; RR: Dalriwa Gamjatang) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from September 22 to November 11, 2021. The romantic comedy explores the contrasting lives and eventual romance between two individuals from vastly different social and educational backgrounds.

Plot

The story follows Jin Moo-hak (Kim Min-jae), the second son of a family that operates a global restaurant franchise, Dondon F&B, which originated from a modest pork bone stew (gamjatang) restaurant. Despite lacking formal education, Moo-hak possesses a sharp instinct for business and wealth accumulation. His path crosses with Kim Da-li (Park Gyu-young), a visiting researcher at an art gallery and the daughter of a prestigious, elite family. Da-li is multilingual and cultured, though she struggles with practical household tasks. The two meet initially without knowledge of their respective backgrounds, only to reconnect later when Da-li's art gallery faces bankruptcy.

Production

The series was directed by Lee Jung-sub with a screenplay written by Son Eun-hye and Park Se-eun. It occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:30 time slot on KBS2, succeeding Sell Your Haunted House and preceding School 2021.
