Daemang: Great Ambition
Daemang (Korean: 대망), also known as Great Ambition, is a South Korean historical television drama that aired on SBS from October 12, 2002, to January 5, 2003. The series was directed by Kim Jong-hak and written by Song Ji-Na, a creative duo known for their collaborative work in the Korean television industry.

Plot
The narrative centers on the complex relationship between two brothers, Park Si-young and Park Jae-young, set against the backdrop of the Joseon Dynasty. Park Si-young (played by Han Jae-suk) is the eldest son of the influential merchant Park Hee-chan. Burdened by his father's expectations to inherit and expand the family business, Si-young adopts a cold, pragmatic approach, often employing ruthless tactics to secure his position. In contrast, his younger brother, Park Jae-young (played by Jang Hyuk), chooses a different path, striving to forge his own identity independent of his brother's influence and the family's traditional business methods.
