Cutter (2016 Film)

Cutter (Korean: 커터; RR: Keoteo) is a 2016 South Korean crime drama film directed by Jung Hee-Sung. The film explores the dark dynamics between high school students and the consequences of their involvement in criminal activities.

Plot

The story follows Yoon-Jae, a transfer student who attempts to adjust to his new school environment. He eventually falls under the influence of Se-Joon, a mysterious and charismatic student. Their relationship takes a dangerous turn as they become entangled in a troubling case involving a junior student named Eun-Young.

Production

The film was directed by Jung Hee-Sung, who previously gained recognition for his short film Dinner at Lee's House, which won the Judges' Choice Award at the 20th Busan International Short Film Festival. Principal photography for Cutter commenced on August 3, 2015. During its development, the project was known by the working title Eclipse (Korean: Yikeulribseu).
