Cruel City
Cruel City (Korean: 무정도시; RR: Moojungdoshi) is a South Korean television crime drama series that aired on the cable network JTBC in 2013. The series, which spanned 20 episodes, was directed by Lee Jung-Hyo and written by Yoo Sung-Yeol. It is noted for its exploration of the criminal underworld and the complex moral boundaries between law enforcement and organized crime.

Plot Synopsis
The narrative follows Jung Shi-Hyun, a man who escaped an orphanage and rose through the ranks of the criminal underworld to become a mid-level gang leader, earning the moniker "Doctor's Son." His life becomes entangled with Ji Hyeong-Min, a section chief in a special investigation unit tasked with dismantling the drug trade. The conflict intensifies as Hyeong-Min targets the drug supplier known as Scale, while simultaneously investigating the mysterious "Doctor's Son." The story also features Han Soo-Min, a woman connected to the police force through her childhood friend and detective, Lee Kyung-Mi.

Production
The series was originally developed under the working title Undercover before being finalized as Moojungdoshi (Cruel City). The first script reading for the production took place on March 19, 2013. The show occupied the Monday and Tuesday 21:50 time slot on JTBC, following the conclusion of Can We Get Married? and preceding Her Myth.
