Conduct Zero (2002 Film)

Conduct Zero (Korean: 품행제로; RR: Ppeumhaeng Jero) is a 2002 South Korean comedy-drama film directed by Jo Geun-Sik. The film explores the life of Park Jung-Pil, a high school student who maintains a reputation as the most formidable fighter at his school, Moonduk High School.

Plot

The story follows Park Jung-Pil, who manages his daily life as a student while balancing the pressures of maintaining his status as the school's top fighter. His routine involves defending his position against rival groups and overseeing the school rooftop, which serves as a gathering place for his peers. His life changes when he becomes interested in Min-Hee, a student from a nearby girls' high school. His focus is further challenged by the arrival of a transfer student named Sang-Man, who threatens to disrupt the existing hierarchy. Despite pressure from his associates to engage in a confrontation with the newcomer, Jung-Pil initially avoids a direct conflict.

Production

The film was directed by Jo Geun-Sik, who also contributed to the screenplay alongside writers Lee Hae-Jun and Lee Hae-Young. It was produced by Park Moo-Sung and Park Sung-Hoon, with cinematography by Jo Yong-Kyu. The film was released in South Korea on December 27, 2002, with a runtime of 99 minutes.
