Cold Eyes (2013 Film)
Cold Eyes (Korean: 감시자들; RR: Gamshijadeul) is a 2013 South Korean action crime thriller film directed by Cho Ui-seok and Kim Byung-seo. The film is a remake of the 2007 Hong Kong film Eye in the Sky. It follows a specialized surveillance team within the police department as they attempt to track down a highly organized criminal group.

Plot
The story centers on Ha Yoon-joo (Han Hyo-joo), a recruit who joins a specialized surveillance unit led by Chief Detective Hwang (Sul Kyung-gu). The unit relies on advanced observation and memory skills to track suspects. Simultaneously, a cold-blooded criminal mastermind known as James (Jung Woo-sung) leads a group of thieves in executing highly precise bank robberies. As the surveillance team works to identify and dismantle James' organization, they face significant challenges due to the group's tactical efficiency and anonymity.
Production
Production for the film took place between August 2012 and February 2013, with principal photography beginning in late October 2012. The film is notable for casting choices that diverged from the actors' previous roles; it marked the first time Jung Woo-sung portrayed a villain, and the first time Han Hyo-joo played a police officer.

Reception and Festivals
Cold Eyes was screened at several international film festivals, including the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, where it held its North American premiere. The film received recognition at major South Korean award ceremonies, including the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards, where Han Hyo-joo won Best Actress, and the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards, where Jin Kyung received the award for Best Supporting Actress.
