City Hunter (2011 South Korean TV Series)

City Hunter is a South Korean television series that aired on SBS from May 25 to July 28, 2011. Directed by Jin Hyeok, the drama is loosely based on the Japanese manga series of the same name by Tsukasa Hojo, which was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump between 1985 and 1991. The series consists of 20 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Lee Yun-seong, an elite I.T. engineer working at the Blue House, South Korea's presidential residence. Yun-seong was raised in Thailand by Lee Jin-pyo, a former bodyguard who survived a failed covert operation in 1983. Following the betrayal of his team by South Korean officials, Jin-pyo trained Yun-seong to seek vengeance against the five men responsible for the deaths of his comrades. Upon returning to South Korea, Yun-seong navigates his professional life at the Blue House while executing his mission, eventually crossing paths with Kim Na-na, a presidential bodyguard.
