Circle of Atonement (2015 Film)

Circle of Atonement (Korean: 비밀; RR: Bimil) is a 2015 South Korean mystery film directed by Park Eun-kyung and Lee Dong-ha. The film, which was originally developed under the working title Joy (조이), explores the lingering consequences of a murder case that occurred a decade prior.

Plot

The narrative centers on Detective Lee Sang-won and his daughter, Lee Jung-hyun. Ten years after a significant murder case, a mysterious man named Nam Chul-woong enters their lives, triggering a series of events that force the characters to confront long-buried secrets related to the original crime.

Production

The film was produced in South Korea and distributed by CGV Arthouse. Principal photography commenced on February 2, 2015, and concluded on March 19, 2015. The film held its world premiere at the 20th Busan International Film Festival on October 2, 2015, as part of the 'Korean Cinema Today: Panorama' section, before its general theatrical release in South Korea on October 15, 2015.
