Cinderella with Four Knights (Korean: 신데렐라와 네 명의 기사; RR: Cinderellawa Ne Myungui Gisa) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on tvN in 2016. The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast on Fridays and Saturdays at 23:00, running from August 12 to October 1, 2016. It is notable for being the first tvN drama series to occupy the Friday and Saturday 11:00 PM time slot.
Plot Synopsis
The story follows Eun Ha-Won (Park So-Dam), a high school student with a bright personality and a strong sense of morality. Despite her difficult home life, where she faces mistreatment from her step-mother and step-sister, she works multiple part-time jobs to save money for university tuition and to pay for the storage of her late mother's ashes. Her life takes a turn when she is hired by a wealthy grandfather, CEO Kang (Kim Yong-Geon), to serve as a live-in butler at his mansion, known as Sky House. Her mission is to influence the behavior of his three spoiled grandsons: the tough Kang Ji-Woon (Jung Il-Woo), the playboy Kang Hyun-Min (Ahn Jae-Hyeon), and the musician Kang Seo-Woo (Lee Jung-Shin).
Production
The drama is based on the novel Cinderellawa Nemyungui Kisa by Baek Myo, which was first published on November 4, 2011, by BandiBooks. During its development, the series carried the working title Niga Cheoeumiya (You're The First). The production process involved a script reading in January 2016, with principal photography commencing on January 31, 2016, and concluding on May 31, 2016.
