Children of a Lesser God
Children of a Lesser God (Korean: 작은 신의 아이들; RR: Jakeun Shinui Aideul) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network OCN. The drama, which consists of 16 episodes, was broadcast from March 3 to April 22, 2018, in the Saturday and Sunday 22:20 time slot.
Plot
The series follows the partnership between two detectives with contrasting investigative methods. Cheon Jae-in is a highly intelligent detective who relies strictly on facts, logic, and numerical data. He is paired with Kim Dan, a detective who possesses the supernatural ability to perceive the final moments of a victim's life. Together, they work to expose a complex conspiracy involving a powerful organization.
Production
The series was directed by Kang Shin-hyo and written by Han Woo-ri. The first script reading for the production took place on December 17, 2017, at the CJ E&M center in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
During production, the cast underwent a significant change. Actor Jo Min-gi was originally cast to play the supporting role of Kook Han-joo, a presidential candidate. However, following public allegations of sexual harassment and assault related to his tenure as an associate professor at Cheongju University, he withdrew from the series on February 21, 2018. Consequently, all scenes featuring the actor were removed from the final broadcast.
