Chief of Staff (Korean: 보좌관 - 세상을 움직이는 사람들; RR: Bojwagwan: Sesangeul Woomjikineun Saramdeul) is a South Korean political drama series that aired on the JTBC network in 2019. The series explores the complex power dynamics and political maneuvering within the South Korean National Assembly.

Plot

The narrative centers on Jang Tae-jun (played by Lee Jung-jae), a former detective who transitions into a career as a chief aide to a four-term lawmaker. Driven by a desire for greater influence, Jang utilizes his sharp intuition and decisive nature to navigate the competitive political landscape. Alongside him is Kang Seon-yeong (played by Shin Min-a), a first-term lawmaker elected through proportional representation who serves as her party's spokesperson. Despite their professional ambitions, the two maintain a secret romantic relationship.

Production

The series was directed by Kwak Jung-hwan and written by Lee Dae-il. Production activities included a script reading held on March 26, 2019, at Studio & NEW in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul. The drama was structured into two seasons, each consisting of 10 episodes.
