Chief Kim (South Korean TV Series)

Chief Kim (Korean: 김과장; RR: Kimgwajang) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from January 25 to March 30, 2017. The series, directed by Lee Jae-Hoon and Choi Yoon-Suk and written by Park Jae-Bum, consists of 20 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Kim Sung-Ryong (played by Namkoong Min), an accountant who previously managed funds for criminal organizations. Through an unexpected turn of events, he secures a position as a department chief at TQ Company. Once inside the corporate structure, he finds himself embroiled in the company's internal struggles, eventually shifting his focus toward combating systemic corruption and irrational management practices.

Production

The production held its first script reading on December 15, 2016, at the KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. The role of the lead male character was initially offered to actor Cha Tae-Hyun, who declined the part. The series replaced Naked Fireman in its time slot and was succeeded by Queen of Mystery on April 5, 2017.
