Cheese in the Trap (2016 TV Series)
Cheese in the Trap is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the cable network tvN from January 4 to March 1, 2016. Directed by Lee Yoon-Jung, the series consists of 16 episodes and explores the complex interpersonal dynamics between university students.

Background and Production
The series is based on the popular webcomic of the same name by author Soon Ggi, which began serialization on Naver Webtoon in July 2010. Production for the television adaptation commenced in September 2015.
The casting process involved notable negotiations. Actress Bae Suzy was initially offered the lead role of Hong Seol but declined. Kim Go-Eun, who had previously focused exclusively on feature films, was also initially hesitant due to scheduling conflicts. She eventually accepted the role after director Lee Yoon-Jung personally requested her participation and adjusted the production schedule to accommodate her.
Plot
The narrative centers on the relationship between Hong Seol, a diligent university student working part-time to support herself, and her senior, Yoo Jung. While Yoo Jung is perceived by his peers as an accomplished, kind, and athletic student, he harbors a complex and darker personality that creates tension throughout their relationship.

The main cast includes:
- Park Hae-Jin as Yoo Jung
- Kim Go-Eun as Hong Seol

Due to the Lunar New Year holiday in South Korea, the broadcast of episodes 11 and 12 was rescheduled from February 8 and 9 to February 15 and 16, 2016. For her performance, Kim Go-Eun was awarded Best New Actress at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards in 2016.
