Broken (2014 South Korean Film)
Broken (Korean: 방황하는 칼날; RR: Banghwanghaneun Kalnal) is a 2014 South Korean suspense-thriller film directed by Lee Jung-Ho. The film is an adaptation of the 2004 novel Samayou Yaiba by Japanese author Keigo Higashino.

Plot
The story follows Lee Sang-Hyun (Jung Jae-Young), a factory worker and widower living with his teenage daughter, Soo-Jin (Lee Soo-Bin). His life is shattered when his daughter is abducted, raped, and murdered. Frustrated by the slow progress of the official police investigation, Sang-Hyun receives an anonymous tip identifying the perpetrators and the location of one of them. Driven by grief and a desire for vengeance, he takes the law into his own hands, becoming a fugitive while being pursued by Detective Jang Eok-Gwan (Lee Sung-Min).
Production
The film was produced by CJ Entertainment. Principal photography commenced on December 15, 2012, and concluded on March 28, 2013. The final scene was filmed on location in Yangsuri, South Korea. Lead actors Jung Jae-Young and Lee Sung-Min remained on set until the completion of the production, despite having finished their individual scenes earlier.

Reception and Festivals
Broken premiered internationally at the 16th Udine Far East Film Festival, held from April 25 to May 3, 2014. It was also screened at the 18th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival in July 2014 as part of the World Fantastic Cinema program.
