Bring Me Home (2019 Film)

Bring Me Home (Korean: 나를 찾아줘; RR: Nareul Chajajwoe) is a 2019 South Korean drama film written and directed by Kim Seung-woo. The film marks the return of actress Lee Young-ae to feature film acting, her first role since the 2005 film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

Plot

The story follows Jung-yeon (Lee Young-ae), a mother whose son, who has an intellectual disability, went missing six years prior. Despite the passage of time, she continues her search. Her persistence leads her to a remote fishing village on an island after receiving a tip regarding her son's whereabouts. Upon arrival, she encounters a community that appears to be hiding secrets.

Production

Principal photography for Bring Me Home commenced on May 14, 2018, and concluded on July 31, 2018. The film was distributed by Warner Bros. Korea and had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2019, before its theatrical release in South Korea on November 27, 2019.
