Boyhood (South Korean Web Series)

Boyhood (Korean: 소년시대; RR: Sonyeonshidae) is a South Korean web series directed by Lee Myung-woo. The series was released on the streaming platform Coupang Play, running for 10 episodes from November 24 to December 22, 2023.

Plot

The story follows Jang Byeong-tae (played by Yim Si-wan), a high school student living in Onyang, South Chungcheong Province, who frequently suffers from bullying. His life takes an unexpected turn when his family relocates to Buyeo. Upon his arrival, a misunderstanding occurs among his new peers, who believe he is a legendary fighter from Asan known as the 'White Tiger.' This mistaken identity forces Byeong-tae to navigate a new social hierarchy while interacting with other students, including the formidable Park Ji-yeong, known as the 'Black Spider,' and the skilled fighter Jung Gyeong-tae.

Production

The series was produced for the streaming service Coupang Play. Principal photography for the production commenced in June 2023.
