Bishoku Tantei Akechi Goro

Bishoku Tantei Akechi Goro (Japanese: 美食探偵 明智五郎) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from April 12 to June 28, 2020. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Akiko Higashimura, which began serialization in the magazine Cocohana in 2015.

Premise

The story follows Goro Akechi, a private detective operating out of an office in Omotesando, Tokyo. Akechi is characterized by his refined palate and his obsession with gourmet cuisine, often using his culinary knowledge to solve criminal cases. The narrative begins when a housewife approaches his office, suspecting her husband of infidelity.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Shintaro Sugawara, Itaru Mizuno, Shigekatsu Honda, Nobuyoshi Yamada, and Akinori Ito, with scripts by Shigenori Tanabe. It aired in the Sunday 22:30–23:25 time slot on NTV. The show followed Panda Judges the World and was succeeded by Daddy is My Classmate.
