Bilocation (2014 Film)
Bilocation (Japanese: バイロケーション, Hepburn: Bairokēshon) is a 2014 Japanese horror film directed by Mari Asato. The screenplay, also written by Asato, is based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Haruka Hojo, published by Kadokawa Shoten.

Plot Synopsis
The story follows Shinobu Takamura, an aspiring painter who finds herself accused of using counterfeit money. Despite her insistence that she was at home during the time of the crime, she is confronted by the allegation. She is subsequently introduced to a clandestine group of individuals who share a common, unsettling experience: each has encountered a doppelganger that looks and acts exactly like them. This phenomenon is referred to as "bilocation."
Production
The film is based on the novel Bilocation by Haruka Hojo, which was released on October 23, 2010. Principal photography for the film adaptation commenced on June 7, 2013, and concluded in early July 2013.

Release and Festivals
Bilocation held its world premiere at the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2013. The film was officially released in Japanese theaters on January 18, 2014. It also received an European premiere at the 16th Udine Far East Film Festival in 2014.
