Big Man (South Korean Television Series)

Big Man (Korean: 빅맨) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from April 28 to June 17, 2014. The drama, directed by Ji Yeong-Su and written by Choi Jin-Won, consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55.

Plot

The story follows Kim Ji-Hyeok (played by Kang Ji-Hwan), an orphan who has lived a difficult life. He finds a sense of belonging at a traditional market, where he works under the guidance of a woman named Dal-Sook, whom he treats like a mother. His life takes a dramatic turn when he is suddenly identified as the long-lost son of the family behind Hyunsung, one of South Korea's most powerful conglomerates. Upon discovering that his newfound status is part of a scheme with ulterior motives, Kim Ji-Hyeok seeks revenge against the Hyunsung family. During this conflict, he becomes romantically involved with So Mi-Ra (Lee Da-Hee).

Production and Reception

The series aired on KBS2, filling the time slot previously occupied by Beyond the Clouds and followed by Lovers of Music. At the 2014 KBS Drama Awards, actress Lee Da-Hee received the Popularity Actress Award for her performance in the series.
