Big Issue (South Korean TV series)
Big Issue is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the SBS network in 2019. The series explores the high-stakes and often cutthroat world of paparazzi journalism.
Plot
The story follows Han Seok-Joo (played by Joo Jin-Mo), a man who loses his career as a prominent newspaper photographer and his family due to a single photograph. His life takes a turn when he is recruited by Ji Soo-Hyun (Han Ye-Seul), the notorious chief editor of a paparazzi agency, to work as a paparazzi photographer.
Production
The series was directed by Lee Dong-Hoon and written by Jang Hyeok-Rin. Production began in December 2018, with the first script reading held on December 17, 2018, at the SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea. The drama occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot on SBS, following The Last Empress and preceding My Absolute Boyfriend.
During its broadcast, the production schedule experienced a delay. Episodes 17–18 and 19–20 were rescheduled to air on April 10 and 11, 2019, one week later than originally planned, to allow for improved production quality. Summary clips were aired in the interim on April 3 and 4, 2019.
