Beneficial Fraud (Korean: 이로운 사기; RR: Yirowoon Sagi) is a South Korean television series that aired on tvN in 2023. The drama, directed by Lee Soo-hyun and written by Han Woo-joo, explores the complex relationship between a brilliant, empathetic-deficient con artist and a hyper-empathetic lawyer.

Plot

The narrative centers on Lee Ro-woom (played by Chun Woo-hee), a gifted fraudster who has amassed significant wealth through her deceptive schemes. Despite her professional success, she lacks the ability to feel empathy for others. Her path crosses with Han Moo-young (Kim Dong-wook), a lawyer who possesses an extreme level of empathy. Moo-young is so deeply affected by the suffering of others that he often experiences physical symptoms when witnessing their pain. Their partnership forms the core of the series as they navigate their opposing worldviews.
