Because I Love You (2017 Film)

Because I Love You (Korean: 사랑하기 때문에; RR: Saranghagi Ttaemoone) is a 2017 South Korean romantic comedy film directed by Ju Ji-Hong. The film follows the story of Jin Lee-Hyung, a talented songwriter who gains the ability to inhabit the bodies of people struggling with their romantic lives, effectively acting as a matchmaker.

Plot

Jin Lee-Hyung (Cha Tae-Hyun) is a songwriter who finds himself in a supernatural predicament. After an incident, he begins to possess the bodies of various individuals who are experiencing difficulties in love. Among those he encounters is Lee Hyun-Kyung (Seo Hyun-Jin), an aspiring singer hampered by severe stage fright, and a high school student named Scully (Kim You-Jung), who assists Jin Lee-Hyung's spirit during his journey.

Production

The film was produced by AD406, a company led by Cha Ji-Hyun, the older brother of lead actor Cha Tae-Hyun. This collaboration marked the second time the brothers worked together on a feature film, following their previous project, The Grand Heist. Principal photography for Because I Love You commenced on July 27, 2015, and concluded on October 22, 2015. The film was released in South Korea on January 4, 2017, by distributor Next Entertainment World.
