Beautiful Gong Shim
Beautiful Gong Shim (Korean: 미녀 공심이; RR: Minyeo Gongshimi) is a South Korean television series that aired on SBS from May 14 to July 17, 2016. The romantic comedy drama consists of 20 episodes and was broadcast on Saturday and Sunday at 22:00 KST.
Production
The series was directed by Baek Soo-Chan and written by Lee Hee-Myung. The production team held the first script reading on April 13, 2016, at the SBS Production Center in Ilsan, South Korea. The drama was originally developed under the working title Yasoowa Minyeo (The Beast and the Beauty). Actress Baek Jin-Hee was initially offered the lead female role but declined the offer.
This production marked the first lead acting role for Namkoong Min on a major South Korean broadcasting station. Namkoong Min had previously collaborated with director Baek Soo-Chan and screenwriter Lee Hee-Myung on the 2015 SBS series A Girl Who Sees Smells.

Reception and Awards
At the 2016 SBS Drama Awards, the series received several honors. Namkoong Min won the award for Best Actor (Romantic Comedy), while Minah received the Excellent Actress (Romantic Comedy) award and the New Star Award. On Joo-Wan was recognized with the Special Actor (Romantic Comedy) award.
