Band of Sisters

Band of Sisters (Korean: 언니는 살아있다; RR: Unnineun Salaidda), also known by its literal title Unni Is Alive, is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the SBS network in 2017. The series was written by Kim Sun-Ok and directed by Choi Hyeong-Hun.

Plot

The narrative centers on three women—Kang Ha-Ri (Kim Joo-Hyun), Min Deul-Re (Jang Seo-Hee), and Kim Eun-Hyang (Oh Yoon-Ah)—who experience the loss of their loved ones simultaneously. Despite their different backgrounds, the three women form an unlikely bond, relying on each other to navigate the challenges of their grief and personal circumstances.

Production and Broadcast

The series premiered on April 15, 2017, and concluded on October 14, 2017. It occupied the Saturday 20:45 time slot on SBS, succeeding Our Gab-Soon and preceding Bravo My Life. The first script reading for the production was held on March 8, 2017, at the SBS Ilsan Production Studios in Goyang, South Korea.

The broadcast format underwent a change during the series' run. From episode 1 through 40, the drama aired two 70-minute episodes each Saturday. Beginning with episode 41 on September 2, 2017, the format shifted to four 35-minute episodes per Saturday.
