Banana, Glove and Whale Shark (Japanese: ばななとグローブとジンベエザメ) is a Japanese drama film released on February 2, 2013. The film was directed by Junichi Yagi, with a screenplay written by Eiji Oki, who also served as the film's producer. The production was distributed by Is.Field and has a runtime of 105 minutes.

Plot

The narrative centers on Atsushi Sonoda, a man who abandoned his family 15 years prior to the film's events. Following his departure, he lived with and cared for his elderly mother, Toshie. His son, Koji, played by Shun Shioya, has since become a lawyer and is preparing to marry his girlfriend, Noriko. The family dynamic is disrupted when Toshie passes away while Atsushi is away from home. Following her death, Atsushi goes missing and fails to attend the funeral, triggering a search for reconciliation and understanding among the remaining family members.
