Bad Guys (2014 South Korean TV Series)

Bad Guys (Korean: 나쁜 녀석들; RR: Nappeun Nyeoseokdeul) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network OCN from October 4 to December 13, 2014. The action-crime drama consists of 11 episodes and was directed by Kim Jung-Min with a screenplay by Han Jung-Hoon.

Plot

The series follows a specialized police task force assembled to combat a surge in violent crime. Detective Oh Goo-Tak, who has been suspended from the police force for his history of using excessive force, is tasked by the Police Chief with forming a team composed of convicted criminals. The team includes Park Woong-Cheol, a powerful gangster; Lee Jung-Moon, a highly intelligent serial killer; and Jung Tae-Soo, a skilled contract killer. Police Inspector Yoo Mi-Young is assigned to oversee the group.

Production and Franchise

Filming for the series commenced in mid-July 2014. The success of the original series led to the development of a franchise, including a spin-off titled Bad Guys: Vile City (2017–2018) and a feature film titled The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos (2019).
