Backflow (South Korean Television Series)

Backflow (Korean: 역류; RR: Yeokryu) is a South Korean daily television drama that aired on the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) network. The series premiered on November 13, 2017, and concluded on April 26, 2018, spanning 119 episodes. It was broadcast in the network's Monday to Friday morning time slot.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Bae Han-Chun and Kim Mi-Sook, with a screenplay written by Kim Ji-Yeon and Seo Shin-Hye. Backflow occupied the 07:50–08:30 KST time slot on MBC. It followed the conclusion of the series Teacher Oh Soon-Nam.

Plot Synopsis

The story follows Kim In-Young (played by Shin Da-Eun), an aspiring interior designer whose life is upended when her father's company faces bankruptcy due to the actions of a friend. As she struggles to support her family, she encounters Kang Joon-Hee (Seo Do-Young), a blind man living at the villa where her father works as a caretaker. The two develop a romantic connection, but their lives are disrupted when Joon-Hee disappears and In-Young's father dies unexpectedly. Upon discovering that the family behind the Taeyeon company is responsible for her family's misfortunes, In-Young embarks on a path of revenge.
