Assistant Inspector Sugiyama Shintaro (Japanese: 警部補 杉山真太郎 - 吉祥寺署事件ファイル) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the TBS network in 2015. The series follows the professional and personal life of Shintaro Sugiyama, a detective working at the Kichijoji police station in Tokyo.

Plot

Shintaro Sugiyama, portrayed by Shosuke Tanihara, is a dedicated detective who finds his life transformed when his wife, Kaori, becomes ill and is hospitalized. As a result, Shintaro must balance his demanding career at the Kichijoji police station with the responsibilities of raising his three children alone. The series explores the tension between his professional duties and his domestic life, as he struggles to maintain his performance as a detective while managing his family's needs. His mother-in-law, Yoshie Aoyagi, eventually steps in to assist with childcare.
