As You Stood By (Korean: 당신이 죽였다; RR: Dangshinyi Jookyeodda) is a South Korean television drama series released on Netflix in 2025. The series is based on the novel Naomi to Kanako by Japanese author Hideo Okuda, which was serialized in the magazine PoNToon between 2012 and 2014.

Plot

The narrative centers on Jo Eun-Su (played by Jeon So-Nee), a sales associate at a luxury department store who has lived with childhood trauma. She forms a bond with her friend, Jo Hui-Su (Lee Yoo-Mi), a former children's book author struggling to escape the persistent domestic violence inflicted by her husband, Noh Jin-Pyo (Jang Seung-Jo). Seeking to liberate her friend from this cycle of abuse, Eun-Su devises a plan to kill Noh Jin-Pyo. Their scheme attracts the attention of Jin So-Baek (Lee Mu-Saeng), the CEO of Jingang Firm, who becomes an unexpected supporter of their cause.

Production and Background

The series is an adaptation of Hideo Okuda's novel Naomi to Kanako. The source material was previously adapted into a Japanese television drama series titled Naomi & Kanako, which aired on Fuji TV in 2016. The 2025 South Korean production consists of eight episodes.
