Apgujeong (2022 Film)

Apgujeong (Korean: 압꾸정) is a 2022 South Korean comedy-drama film directed by Lim Jin-Soon. The film explores the competitive plastic surgery industry in the Apgujeong neighborhood of the Gangnam District in Seoul.

Plot

The story follows Dae-Kook (played by Ma Dong-Seok), a local resident of Apgujeong who is currently unemployed. He crosses paths with Ji-Woo (played by Jung Kyoung-Ho), a highly skilled but cynical plastic surgeon. Together, the two attempt to launch a business venture that aims to dominate the plastic surgery market in the affluent Gangnam district.

Production

The film was initially developed under the working title Apgujeong Report. Principal photography for the production commenced on August 18, 2020, and concluded on November 20, 2020. The film was distributed by Showbox and received its theatrical release in South Korea on November 30, 2022.
