Plot Overview

Nao Haruki, portrayed by Nana Eikura, works as a general internist at a hospital located in a provincial port city. Although she fulfilled her ambition of becoming a physician, her career path experienced delays due to complications caused by her older brother. Her current professional life leaves her physically and emotionally drained from heavy workloads.

While working at the hospital, Nao is assigned to treat a young patient named Eri, who suffers from a serious illness. Eri is supported by her devoted older brother, Shuji Sonoda (played by Eiji Akaso), a shipyard worker. Inspired by Shuji's dedication, Nao searches for treatment alternatives to help Eri. During this period, Nao and Shuji develop a romantic connection, which is ultimately disrupted by an unexpected incident. Three years later, the two unexpectedly reunite at a hospital in Tokyo where Nao is employed.
