Air Murder (2022 Film)
Air Murder (Korean: 공기살인; RR: Gonggisalin) is a 2022 South Korean drama film directed by Jo Yong-Sun. The film is based on the 2016 novel Kyun by So Jae-Won, which draws inspiration from the real-life South Korean humidifier disinfectant disaster.

Plot
The narrative follows Jung Tae-Hun (Kim Sang-Kyung), a trauma center physician whose life is upended when his son falls ill with a mysterious lung condition, followed by the sudden death of his wife, Han Gil-Ju (Seo Young-Hee), from the same ailment. Driven by grief and suspicion, Jung investigates the cause of their illnesses and discovers a pattern of similar respiratory cases among other patients. He eventually identifies a common factor: the use of a specific humidifier disinfectant.
Jung is joined in his investigation by his sister-in-law, Han Young-Ju (Lee Sun-Bin), a former prosecutor who transitions into legal practice to pursue the case. Together, they work to uncover the corporate and systemic secrets behind the health crisis.

The film was directed by Jo Yong-Sun, who also co-wrote the screenplay. It is based on the novel Kyun, written by So Jae-Won and published on May 2, 2016, by Saeip. The story serves as a dramatization of the public health crisis involving toxic chemicals in humidifier disinfectants in South Korea.
