Again (2020 South Korean Film)

Again is a South Korean drama film released on July 30, 2020. Directed and written by Cho Chang-Yeol, the film explores themes of professional struggle and artistic inspiration.

Plot

The story centers on Jo Yeon-Joo (played by Kim Ye-Eun), an assistant director who has spent a decade in the film industry without achieving her goal of becoming a lead director. Struggling with low self-esteem and professional burnout, she returns to her hometown of Jeonju. During her stay, she encounters the story of Heo San-Ok (Kim So-Yi), a historical figure known as the last gisaeng of the Joseon era, who was also a painter and a patron of the arts. Inspired by Heo's life and legacy, Jo Yeon-Joo finds the motivation to pursue her career aspirations once more.
