After My Death (2018 Film)

After My Death (Korean: 죄 많은 소녀; RR: Choe Manheun Sonyeo) is a 2018 South Korean drama film written and directed by Kim Ui-seok. The film premiered at the 2017 Busan International Film Festival and was released theatrically in South Korea on September 13, 2018.

Plot

The narrative centers on the disappearance of a high school student named Kyung-min. Although her body is never recovered, she is presumed to have jumped from a bridge. Young-hee, a classmate who was the last person seen with Kyung-min, becomes the primary focus of suspicion. As the missing girl's mother begins to openly accuse Young-hee of involvement, the teenager faces intense scrutiny from her peers, school faculty, and local law enforcement.

Reception and Awards

The film received critical attention for its exploration of guilt and social pressure. At the 56th Daejong Film Awards in 2020, Jeon Yeo-bin was awarded Best New Actress for her performance in the film.
