Adult Trainee (South Korean Web Series)

Adult Trainee (Korean: 어른연습생; RR: Eoreunyeonseubsaeng) is a South Korean web series that premiered on the streaming platform TVING in November 2021. The series consists of seven episodes and explores the lives, romantic experiences, and personal development of high school students through three distinct narrative arcs.

Narrative Structure

The series is divided into three segments, each focusing on different characters and themes:

Abstinence 100 Days: This segment follows Seo Jae-Min (Ryoo Ui-Hyun), who attempts to overcome his habit of watching adult videos after developing a crush on his new seatmate, Bang Ye-Kyung (Mi Yeon).
Pretend to Date For 100 Days: Ban Yu-Ra (Jo Yoo-Jung) and her childhood friend Kim Nam-Ho (Ryeo Un) enter a fake relationship after Yu-Ra is dumped by her boyfriend, Song Yi-Joon (Lee Chan-Hyeong).
Son Na-Eun's Story: Son Na-Eun (Kwon Young-Eun), a student who struggles with body image and dieting, receives a mysterious note from an admirer signed by "J," leading her to suspect her classmate, Choi Kang-Joon (Kim Min-Ki).

Production

The series was directed by Yoo Hak-Chan and Jung Hyung-Gun, with a screenplay written by Kim Hyun-Min, Bang So-Min, and Jin Yoon-Joo. It was released exclusively on the TVING network over the course of three weeks, from November 12 to November 26, 2021.
