A Way Station (Korean: 간이역; RR: Kaniyeok) is a 2021 South Korean romantic drama film directed and written by Kim Jung-Min. The film explores themes of memory, terminal illness, and the enduring nature of love.

Plot

The story follows Seung-Hyun (Kim Dong-Jun) and Ji-A (Kim Jae-Kyung), who share a romantic connection during their high school years in a small town. Seung-Hyun lives with the fear of developing Alzheimer's disease, a condition he witnessed his mother endure. Ji-A provides emotional support until she moves to Seoul for university, leading to the eventual estrangement of their relationship. Seven years later, Ji-A, now an office worker, receives a terminal cancer diagnosis and returns to her hometown, where she reconnects with Seung-Hyun, who has become a baker.
