A Superior Day (South Korean Television Series)

A Superior Day (Korean: 우월한 하루; RR: Uwolhan Halu) is a South Korean television series that aired on the OCN network in 2022. The thriller drama, which consists of eight episodes, was directed by Jo Nam-Hyeong and written by Lee Ji-Hyun. The series is based on the webcomic of the same name by Team Getname, which was originally serialized on Naver between 2008 and 2009.

Plot

The narrative centers on Lee Ho-Chul, a firefighter and devoted family man. His life is upended when he receives a threatening text message containing a photograph of a man holding a bloodied knife next to a victim. Ho-Chul realizes the man in the photo is his neighbor, Kwon Shi-Woo. The sender of the message, a hired killer named Bae Tae-Jin, demands that Ho-Chul kill Shi-Woo within 24 hours, threatening the life of Ho-Chul's kidnapped daughter if he fails to comply. As the situation escalates, it is revealed that Shi-Woo is a psychopathic serial killer who derives a sense of superiority from his crimes, while Tae-Jin orchestrates a complex scheme to eliminate him using Ho-Chul as a pawn.

Production

The production process for the series included a script reading held in South Korea in November 2021. The series premiered on March 13, 2022, and concluded its run on May 1, 2022, airing on Sundays at 22:30.
