A Special Lady (Korean: 미옥; RR: Miok) is a 2017 South Korean crime noir film directed by Lee An-gyu. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the desire for redemption within the criminal underworld.

Plot

Na Hyun-jung (Kim Hye-soo) serves as the second-in-command of a powerful crime organization. Despite her high status, she seeks to leave her violent past behind and prepare for a different life. Her plans are complicated by Im Sang-hoon (Lee Sun-kyun), the organization's dedicated troubleshooter, who remains fiercely loyal to her and struggles to comprehend her desire to retire. Meanwhile, Prosecutor Choi (Lee Hee-jun), who has been targeted by Hyun-jung, attempts to orchestrate his revenge by manipulating Sang-hoon.

Production

The film was directed by Lee An-gyu, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jung Seo-kyoung. Principal photography for the project began on January 28, 2016, and concluded on April 28, 2016. During its development, the film was known by the working title Sojoonghan Yeoin, which translates to Dear Lady.
